Veteran colorist Wayne Hampton joins Modern Videofilm

LA-based post house Modern Videofilm, a division of Point.360, has added senior broadcast colorist Wayne Hampton to its finishing team for television work.

Hampton comes to Modern after 16 years at Technicolor Hollywood, where he graded shows such as Criminal Minds, The Big Bang Theory, Mom and Two and a Half Men. His other credits include Lost, Ugly Betty, United States of Tara and Army Wives.

“I love finishing for broadcast because it has truly become the tip of the spear driving pop culture imagery,” explains Hampton. “With the explosion of myriad of distribution networks available to the media consumer, the sky is the limit regarding creativity and artistry. What once was the sole domain of traditional networks, is now a wide open playing field with endless opportunities. Very exciting time to be involved.”
“Adding Wayne to the team at Modern/360 signals our commitment to broadcast,” says Haig Bagerdjian CEO of Point.360. “We feel that Modern’s experience in broadcast perfectly complements Point.360’s global distribution capabilities.”
And on why he felt now was the right time to join Modern, Hampton says, “With the recent acquisition of MVF by Point.360, I see a bold and exciting commitment to the future of the medium. The new leadership is acting quickly and dynamically to assure that this new merging of talent and resources will be a dominant force in the business for many years to come. I could not possibly be more enthusiastic about our direction moving forward.”

At Modern, Hampton’s tool of choice is the DaVinci Resolve.
