Endless surfing on Chrome (for research of course).

Collaborating on a job with many talented people.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF THE DAY?
Early morning before everyone arrives at the office. Holding a big cup of joe.

IF YOU DIDN’T HAVE THIS JOB, WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING INSTEAD?
Riding my bicycle cross country.

HOW EARLY ON DID YOU KNOW THIS WOULD BE YOUR PATH?
I realized as an art student in college that you could make a living making Saturday morning cartoons. Also, having met many famous animators while studying and working in Los Angeles, I also realized that animators live a long time. I was hooked.

CAN YOU NAME SOME RECENT PROJECTS YOU HAVE WORKED ON?
Commercials for Target and Kohl’s, and I recently directed a short film called Bicycle Love Poem. It is showing at the Weisman Art Museum in Minneapolis with the exhibit “Big Bridges, A Collaboration.” Also, Carousel, a 3D projection film that was screened on the facade of the Union Depot train station in St. Paul.

WHAT IS THE PROJECT THAT YOU ARE MOST PROUD OF?
My animated film The God of our Farm Had Blades and the Golden State Warriors open. They are extremely different, but were both super rewarding.

Yes, I have a wide range of music I listen to depending on what I’m working on. Some favorites: soundtracks, piano concertos and blues.

WHAT DO YOU DO TO DE-STRESS FROM IT ALL?
I take kickboxing and strength training classes five times a week, and I ride my bike.
